About PUNA
PUNA Resources was created to make high-quality te reo Māori learning more accessible, engaging and achievable for kaiako and tamariki across Aotearoa.
PUNA is founded by an experienced educator, teacher of te reo Māori and educational leader with more than a decade of experience working across both state education and Kura Kaupapa Māori settings.
With a Master of Secondary School Leadership, a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Māori Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and Te Pīnakitanga ki te Reo Kairangi – Level 7 Diploma in Te Reo Māori, PUNA brings together expertise in te reo Māori, education and educational leadership, supported by extensive experience in teaching and senior leadership.
With whakapapa to Ngāpuhi and Tainui, PUNA is grounded in a genuine commitment to supporting the normalisation, growth and confident use of te reo Māori within learning environments across Aotearoa.
PUNA resources are designed with the realities of teaching in mind. Each programme provides clear, structured and ready-to-deliver learning that supports kaiako to confidently incorporate te reo Māori into their practice, while creating engaging and accessible learning experiences for tamariki.
Our goal is not simply to provide resources for one week of the year, but to support learning that can continue beyond Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. PUNA will continue to develop ready-to-deliver programmes that support schools and early childhood centres to build te reo Māori learning throughout the year.
